Research icebreaker Xuelong has arrived at the first station of China's 42nd Antarctic expedition in the Amundsen Sea and started a cross-sectional survey. Within a planned 18-day stay in the South Pole, the vessel will complete operations at more than 20 stations. This survey will mainly be carried out in the sea area south of 69 degrees south latitude. The project content covers hydrology, meteorology, chemistry, biology, geology and other aspects.
