China Media Group (CMG) successfully completed the third rehearsal for its 2026 Spring Festival Gala on Saturday. Alongside the main venue in Beijing, four sub-venues in the cities of Harbin, Yiwu, Hefei and Yibin, located in Heilongjiang, Zhejiang, Anhui and Sichuan provinces respectively, made their debut during the latest rehearsal and enhanced the gala's overall coherence.

Featuring original music, dance, opera and martial arts, the show continues to take shape in a festive and uplifting atmosphere, vividly reflecting the dynamism of China in a new era.

At the main venue, innovative creative approaches bring traditional Chinese aesthetics to life in fresh and engaging ways. A creative vocal performance themed around flowers combines AI-generated visuals with extended-reality stage design to portray the changing seasons and the enduring vitality of nature.

A dance inspired by ancient Silk Road murals transforms centuries-old art into a stage performance, while a song infused with Suzhou Pingtan expresses the warmth of everyday family life and shared hopes for the future.

A special opera performance blends multiple regional genres, with performers from various generations sharing the stage to celebrate the richness of Chinese operatic heritage.

Each sub-venue presents a distinctive regional character. From icy landscapes in the north to the banks of the Yangtze River, performances highlight local traditions and contemporary creativity.

The Harbin venue in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province showcases a mix of singing, symphonic music and ballet, capturing the city's warmth amid winter snow.

The Yiwu venue in east China's Zhejiang Province integrates local folk elements, including Wu Opera, into vibrant performances that reflect its role as a global trading hub.

The Hefei venue in east China's Anhui Province combines ink-style dance and Huangmei Opera with striking technological visuals.

The Yibin venue in southwest China's Sichuan Province sets its stage against the majestic Yangtze River, weaving folk customs into scenes of family reunion and festive joy.
