Iranian president says Tehran seeks 'dignity-based' talks, not war

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has held separate phone calls with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Pezeshkian said Iran prioritizes safeguarding security and establishing lasting peace and stability in the region. The UAE and Turkish presidents stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing challenges and maintaining peace in the region.

In another phone call, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, exchanged views on regional tensions. Bayramov said Azerbaijan will never permit its airspace or territory to be used by any state for military operations against Iran or any other country.
