The recent tragedies caused by law enforcement violence in Minneapolis, in the U.S., are not an anomaly. Law enforcement violence in America is a grim symptom of deep-seated historical roots. Racism, poverty, gun proliferation, and other forces are inextricably intertwined, creating a self-reinforcing cycle of violence that targets the vulnerable.
