Five people were injured Saturday after a shooting broke out during the "Mardi Gras in the Country" parade in Clinton, Louisiana, police said.

The incident occurred outside the East Feliciana Parish Courthouse in Clinton, according to authorities.

East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeff Travis told local news outlet WAFB that the injured included a 6-year-old child.

Travis said three people were taken into custody, and police were searching for a vehicle in connection with the shooting.
