The Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt was reopened on Sunday on a limited and trial basis, with fuller operations expected to start on Monday. Dozens of ambulances lined up on the Egyptian side and aid trucks moved into Gaza during the pilot run. Locals welcomed the reopening, saying it could significantly ease the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
