Laura Fernandez is leading Costa Rica's presidential race with a commanding lead of 53.01 percent while Alvaro Ramos is second with 30.05 percent and Claudia Dobles is third with 3.9 percent. A total of 31.14 percent of votes have been tallied.
Fernandez needs at least 40 percent to win the election outright and avoid a runoff on April 5.
