Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Le Hoai Trung, special envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam, in Beijing on Tuesday.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, extended congratulations to the CPV on the successful convening of its 14th National Congress.
Wang said that under the new circumstances, China is willing to work with Vietnam, guided by the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, to grasp the strategic nature of bilateral relations, enhance the mutual benefits of cooperation, highlight the special nature of China–Vietnam friendship, strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen strategic mutual trust, advance connectivity and expand pragmatic cooperation in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
The Vietnamese side looks forward to elevating the Vietnam–China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a higher level, said Le.
