The first turbines of a 300-megawatt wind power project in China have begun operation on February 2. The project is the highest-altitude wind farm now operating, reaching elevations of 3,700 meters. The completed project will feature 45 turbines of 6.7 megawatts each, and a 30-megawatt storage station able to hold 60 megawatt-hours of power.
