The world's largest-span cable-stayed bridge using double-edge I-shaped composite girders has been successfully connected on February 4. After more than four years of construction, the Daxihe Grand Bridge – the centre piece of the new Fengjian Expressway – has achieved full closure, marking a major milestone for the expressway project. The bridge has a total length of 1,662 meters. Its main span is a 650-meter double-tower, double-cable-plane composite girder cable-stayed bridge, making it the world's largest-span cable-stayed bridge using double-edge I-shaped composite girders.
