First Jurassic amphibian footprints in Asia discovered in Beijing

A China-led study has reported the discovery of amphibian track fossils in Middle Jurassic strata in Beijing, marking the first such record in Asia. The research, published in the journal Ichnos, fills a major gap in the continent's fossil records. Experts say the finds provide vital evidence of paleogeography, paleoecology and biodiversity of northern China about 160 million years ago.
