Taicang Port: China's only inland port with seaport power

As China's only inland port with full seaport status, Taicang port zone of Suzhou Port in east China's Jiangsu Province has emerged as a major logistics hub. Its container throughput has exceeded 8 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), ranking eighth nationwide and 20th globally, while helping businesses cut logistics costs by over 20 billion yuan annually and strengthening connectivity across the lower Yangtze River.

Taicang Port's global shipping network links more than 200 ports across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and South America, forming a seamless river-to-ocean logistics system. In 2025, vehicle exports through the port surpassed 800,000 units, making it the largest auto export port in Jiangsu and along the Yangtze River. 

Close to Shanghai, the port benefits from integrated customs clearance with Shanghai Port, allowing one declaration, one inspection and one release. This efficiency is attracting more high-value exports – from new energy vehicles to lithium batteries and solar products – powering Taicang Port's next stage of growth. (Photos via CGTN and CFP)
