China's J-10C fighter jet takes center stage at Singapore Airshow

00:40

The 10th Singapore Airshow opened on Tuesday at the Changi Exhibition Center, with the Bayi Aerobatic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force delivering a flight display featuring six J-10 fighter jets. The plane is a single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed by China's Chengdu Aircraft Corporation.

The last time the Bayi Aerobatic Team appeared at the Singapore show was in 2020, when it flew the older J-10A variant.  Official media reports show that the Bayi Aerobatic Team switched to flying the J-10C aircraft in 2023.

According to the Bayi Aerobatic Team, the display maneuvers have been expanded to include a six-aircraft formation barrel roll, a five-aircraft fly-past and an axis rotation maneuver performed by Aircraft Number Six.

As reported by China Media Group, the J-10C's digital fly-by-wire control system provides exceptional stabilization, allowing pilots to maintain remarkably smooth flight. This precision enables tighter, more complex formation flying during aerial demonstrations, significantly enhancing the visual spectacle and performance impact.
