The Bronze Galloping Horse Statue is believed to date back to the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220), as the inscriptions on it appear only in historical records from that period. In the 1970s, the statue represented China on the international stage, being exhibited in countries such as France, Japan and the United Kingdom. It attracted over 5 million visitors worldwide, rightfully earning its reputation as the "ambassador" of cultural diplomacy through cultural relics.

In 2002, it was listed among the first batch of precious cultural relics prohibited from going abroad for exhibition by China's National Cultural Heritage Administration. The statue is now housed in Gansu Museum. The Bronze Galloping Horse Statue is not only a masterpiece of bronze art but also an envoy of cultural exchange between the East and the West.
