Bearded vulture soars over Karamay snowy peaks

In Karamay, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a bearded vulture – a protected species – was spotted on a snow-covered mountain peak. Its dark feathers gleamed in the twilight as it soared over the snowy landscape. With a wingspan of over three meters, the bird's flight and occasional rests on rocks created a striking contrast. Karamay's northern mountains, with minimal human impact, provide a perfect habitat for these rare birds. This sighting highlights the region's ecological beauty and the importance of protecting such habitats.
