Death toll in illegal Indian coal mine blast rises to 23

At least 23 people were killed in an explosion at an illegal coal mine in India's northeastern state of Meghalaya, officials said.
Rescue teams continued searching for survivors after the blast hit a so-called rat-hole mine in East Jaintia Hills, where the banned practice remains widespread.
