Five dead after biotech factory explosion in north China's Shanxi

Five people have been found dead in a factory blast in north China's Shanxi Province on Saturday, local authorities confirmed.

The explosion occurred early Saturday at a workshop of the Jiapeng biotech company in Shanyin County. As of 10:38 am, rescuers had located five trapped workers, all of whom were found to have no vital signs, according to the county authorities.

An investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway.
