Monks studying on computers, nuns fully focused in class, and devoted believers making pilgrimage around the Jokhang Temple ... none of it matched the Xizang portrayed by Western media. American journalist and comedian Lee Camp admits that he once knew very little about Tibetan Buddhism or monastic life, and that claims repeatedly pushed by Western outlets such as "no religious freedom" and "an unhappy population" are themselves steeped in political bias. Seeing it firsthand forced him to rethink what genuine faith looks like, and what truths have long been obscured.
