CMG unveils cutting-edge 8K hall for unmatched Winter Games coverage

Located on the second floor of Milan's International Broadcast Center, China Media Group's 8K multi-functional hall stands as a beacon of technological innovation, poised to transform worldwide coverage of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

Occupying approximately 94 square meters, the facility boasts a 275-inch ultra-high-definition screen, accompanied by an impressive array of 30 speakers, setting up an unparalleled audio-visual experience.

Throughout the Games, CMG will produce 8K international common signals for key events, including the highly-anticipated opening and closing ceremonies, as well as figure skating and short track competitions, all broadcast from the specialized theater.

Cheng Kun, head of CMG's 8K Multi-Functional Hall, expressed satisfaction with the theater's performance, noting that all systems are operating at peak capability.

"The 8K theater represents CMG's first collaborative construction and operation with Olympic Broadcasting Services," he said. "Combined with CMG's on-site 8K production system, this hall fully demonstrates our end-to-end technical solution for 8K broadcasting."
