In southwest China's Yunnan Province, improving public health has been a long journey shaped by geography. In many mountainous and remote villages, seeing a doctor used to mean hours of travel. But today, healthcare is on the move.
With government support, township health centers organize regular village visits, and doctors carry medical kits directly to residents' homes. Working alongside village grid workers, these teams monitor people’s health needs and respond quickly at the grassroots level.
In 2025, Malong District in Qujing City equipped all 73 village clinics with standardized mobile health backpacks. Along with basic testing tools, the kits include 5G-enabled ECG devices, allowing real-time data sharing and better diagnosis without leaving the village.
