China: U.S. attempts to fabricate excuses for restarting its nuclear tests

At a conference in Geneva last Friday, a senior U.S. official called on China to join multilateral nuclear arms control and strategic stability dialogue. Thomas DiNanno, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, also accused China of carrying out a series of secret nuclear tests in 2020. When asked about the remarks on Tuesday in Beijing, China's Foreign Ministry voiced strong opposition, saying the United States' persistent distortion and defamation of China's nuclear policies amount to a political maneuver aimed at seeking nuclear hegemony and shirking its own responsibility for nuclear disarmament.
