The evidence of forced conscription of "comfort women" by Japan's militarists is ironclad that brooks no denial, and China is seriously concerned with Japan's erroneous attitude and dishonest practices regarding its history of aggression, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks in response to a relevant inquiry at a regular press conference, adding that the international community is strongly indignant about this crime.

For a long time, there have been certain forces within Japan attempting to deny or even distort the history of the forced conscription of "comfort women," Lin said.

Japan should deeply reflect on its history of aggression, profoundly repent for the immense suffering its crimes inflicted on the victims, and properly handle historical issues such as the forced conscription of "comfort women" with honesty and responsibility, thereby gaining the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community through concrete actions, he added.
