The World Health Expo, or WHX concluded in Dubai, UAE, on Thursday. The four-day event brought together over 4,300 exhibitors from more than 180 countries and regions.
The Chinese medical equipment area was among the most bustling, with "Made in China" earning widespread acclaim through its technological prowess.
Ren Fang, deputy secretary-general of China Association of Medical Equipment, told CGTN that over the past five-to-ten years, Chinese medical equipment has gained significant favor and recognition across the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. China's medical equipment exports to 16 Middle Eastern countries reached $2.2 billion in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 10 precent.
This year, beyond cutting-edge medical devices, China's top-tier hospitals also made their debut, showcasing the nation's latest medical technologies and clinical standards. A group of China's leading hospitals participated, bringing not just clinical expertise but comprehensive "smart hospital" solutions.
Qiao Jie, executive vice president of Peking University and director of Peking University Health Science Center, headed a delegation of six Peking University affiliated hospitals. AI, big data, data modeling for diagnostic and therapeutic prediction as well as medical robotics and bio-materials are the fields in which international peers have shown immense interest.

Zhongshan Hospital aimed to present its advanced concepts in medical care, diagnosis, management, and service — especially its ventures into international healthcare, said Fan Jia, the honorary president of Zhongshan Hospital.
International peers are quite astonished by China's progress in this field, said Xia Qiang, president of Renji Hospital in Shanghai. Many expressed a strong desire to visit China to gain a deeper and more concrete understanding of how AI is practically integrated into daily hospital operations.
Furthermore, experts noted that China's experience in reforming the healthcare system also provides valuable insights for the Middle East.
For example, Cheng Yongzhong, Party secretary of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, mentioned China has been exploring a tiered healthcare system for years, and remote medicine, particularly robotic surgery, allows experts to serve patients more efficiently regardless of distance. This model holds significant practical value for many regions in the Middle East.
From precision surgical robots to advanced digital imaging systems, China's healthcare presence in the Middle East has evolved far beyond simple commodity trade. It has transformed into a profound era of technical empowerment and the export of industry standards.
