The International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry has visited China Media Group's (CMG's) studio in Milan during the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and was impressed by the media outlet's work.

As the Games' exclusive global partner for 8K signal production, CMG produced the 8K feed for the opening ceremony, short track speed skating, and figure skating. It will also do the same for the closing event.

The 8K cinema showcased these broadcasts along with other 8K programs produced by the network. Coventry praised CMG's performance during the Games and, after learning that the Spring Festival Gala would also be shown in 8K, extended her New Year wishes.

"Happy New Year to everybody," the IOC boss said. "We're so excited to be a part of the CMG family. And I know we've got a big team here. So everybody here during these Games, Happy New Year. Hopefully, we'll be celebrating with you somewhere and wishing you only good fortune for the Year of the Horse."
