Tedros: Since the conflict began in Amhara region of Ethiopia, there are disturbing reports of health workers being targeted - detained, beaten, and killed. On Feb 4, Dr. Tsegahun Sime was reportedly taken by security forces in Bahir Dar and later found dead. Hospitals have been damaged in the fighting, and aid workers have lost their lives. With internet blackouts limiting information, these incidents need urgent independent investigation. Health facilities and health workers are not a target.
