Several people were stabbed in Japan's Osaka Prefecture early Sunday, police said.

Local authorities reported receiving a call around midnight about multiple stabbings in the Dotonbori district of Osaka.

At least three people were injured, with one reported unconscious and the conditions of the other two still unclear.

The suspect is believed to be acquainted with the victims and fled the scene after the attack, according to China Media Group. Police are investigating the incident.
