What's been fueling China's private sector since 2025?

By 2025, the number of private enterprises in China had exceeded 58 million. They account for more than 90 percent of all businesses nationwide, including over 90 percent of firms in the core digital economy and among national hi-tech enterprises.

One year after China convened a high-level symposium on private enterprises, companies across sectors are translating policy support into tangible growth. From artificial intelligence and electric vehicles to robotics, private firms say renewed confidence and clearer direction have helped transform expectations into real performance.
