2nd round of indirect Iran-U.S. nuclear talks underway in Geneva

The second round of indirect Iran-U.S. nuclear talks, mediated by Oman, began in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday, according to Iran's state media.

Washington is represented by U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, while Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi leads a "diplomatic and specialized" delegation.

Speaking to the BBC on Sunday, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said Iran could discuss diluting its 60-percent-enriched uranium as a sign of flexibility but firmly ruled out zero enrichment on Iranian soil.

The talks follow the first round in the Omani capital of Muscat on February 6, which both sides described as a "good start" but yielded no visible breakthrough. 

Washington has stated that any deal with Iran must include a ban on uranium enrichment, removal of enriched material, limits on long-range missiles, and a rollback of support for regional proxies. Tehran, meanwhile, has reiterated its willingness to reach a "fair and equitable" deal that would lift sanctions while maintaining two red lines: preserving its right to peaceful nuclear energy and retaining its missile capabilities.
