Parts of the Strait of Hormuz will be closed for several hours on Tuesday as part of a "Smart Control of the Strait of Hormuz" exercise, said Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.

The temporary closure is aimed at ensuring safety and navigation during the drill.

The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that various defensive and offensive weapons were employed during the drill and that the designated targets were destroyed with accuracy.
