Xinjiang's Alataw Pass marks 1,000th China-Europe freight train

On February 14, the Alataw Pass Railway Port in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region dispatched its 1,000th China-Europe freight train of 2026, reaching the milestone 11 days earlier than last year and signaling a strong start to foreign trade. According to China Railway Urumqi Bureau, improved coordination, optimized transport planning, and real-time monitoring have boosted both service frequency and efficiency. With 128 routes connecting 21 countries – including Germany and Poland – and over 200 types of goods in transit, Alataw Pass has become a vital gateway linking Asia with Europe and advancing China's westward opening-up strategy.
