Chinese veteran freeskier Xu Mengtao won the women's aerials final at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics on Wednesday, adding a second gold for her country in her fifth Olympic appearance.
Four Chinese athletes made the final: Xu, Shao Qi, Kong Fanyu and Chen Meiting. Only half of the 12 finalists advanced past the first round and then competed against each other again in the super final.
As the defending champion, Xu finished the first round with 107.75 points. She was joined by Shao and Kong in the super final in addition to Danielle Scott of Australia and two Americans, Kaila Kuhn and Winter Vinecki.
Xu delivered a superb performance in the second attempt, scoring 112.90 points to top the podium with an absolute advantage. Scott took silver with 102.17. Shao earned bronze with 101.90. Kong came in fourth with 101.31.
