To welcome in the Spring Festival joy, Sanya Paddy Field National Park, located in southern China's Hainan Province, has been transformed into a radiant celebration of light and tradition. Rows of vibrant lanterns line the rice paddies, casting warm shades of red and gold across the countryside. By night, the park becomes a dazzling spectacle. Lantern installations shaped like zodiac animals, blooming flowers and traditional Chinese motifs shimmer against the water-filled fields, where their reflections create a dreamlike scene. And then comes one of the most exciting moments: Da Tie Hua, literally translated as "throwing iron flowers." Artisans heat the iron until it is molten, then toss it into the air. It is a tradition that goes back hundreds of years, once meant to pray for safety and good harvests, and now it is a crowd favorite. Strolling along the pathways, many visitors stop to take photos, admire the glowing displays and make wishes for the year ahead, embracing both tradition and the simple joy of reunion.
