The massive turnout reflects the strong appeal of traditional cultural activities during Chinese New Year. Tourists flocked to the Temple of Heaven – famous for its iconic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests – to pray for blessings and experience Chinese New Year traditions firsthand.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Temple of Heaven is an ancient imperial complex where emperors once prayed for good harvests and peace; and it remains one of Beijing's most beloved symbols of traditional Chinese culture.
