Beijing's key monitored parks and scenic spots received 2 million visitors on February 20 during the Chinese New Year holiday. This is a 35.6 percent year-on-year increase and sets a new record as the highest single-day visitor number in history, according to Beijing News on BRTV.

Among all city-owned parks, Temple of Heaven Park ranked first with 230,700 visitors on the same day, also hitting a new single-day record in its history.

The massive turnout reflects the strong appeal of traditional cultural activities during Chinese New Year. Tourists flocked to the Temple of Heaven – famous for its iconic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests – to pray for blessings and experience Chinese New Year traditions firsthand.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Temple of Heaven is an ancient imperial complex where emperors once prayed for good harvests and peace; and it remains one of Beijing's most beloved symbols of traditional Chinese culture.
