One Chinese national was killed and another injured after a passenger bus plunged into the Trishuli River in central Nepal on Monday, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal has confirmed.
The accident occurred in the Dhading district early Monday as the bus was traveling from the tourist city of Pokhara to the capital, Kathmandu. According to local authorities, 19 people were killed and 25 others were injured.
The bus, reportedly carrying 45 people, veered off the Prithvi Highway and fell into the river. The injured Chinese citizen is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
