Mexico's military confirmed the death of Nemesio "El Mencho" Oseguera Cervantes, head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, following a security operation in Jalisco state.

Violence erupted in multiple areas afterward, with buses set on fire and roads blocked. Flights to Puerto Vallarta were suspended and the U.S. State Department advised Americans to shelter in place.
