China's nine-day Spring Festival holiday saw 596 million domestic trips, up 95 million from the eight-day holiday in 2025, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Total domestic travel spending surpassed 803 billion yuan (about $116 billion), a more than 126 billion yuan increase over the same period in 2025.

The number of holiday travelers and total spending both hit record highs, while the national culture and tourism market remained stable.
