China's information and communications industry significantly strengthened network operations and service support during the Spring Festival holiday, ensuring the overall stability and smooth operation of the nationwide communications network, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

During the holiday period, MIIT guided telecom operators to closely monitor network performance at more than 13,000 transportation hubs and major tourist destinations nationwide. To ensure a positive user experience, operators expanded network capacity as needed by deploying more than 260,000 additional 4G and 5G base stations.

Meanwhile, more than 21,000 critical communications circuits were provided for key users, including the Ministry of Emergency Management and the Ministry of Transport, supporting over 8,000 key operational scenarios.

Across the country, the information and communications sector conducted extensive inspections and protective checks on critical network nodes and communications facilities during the Spring Festival. More than 840,000 base stations and 23.75 million kilometers of transmission lines were inspected. 

In addition, over 240,000 emergency communications personnel and 49,000 emergency communications vehicles were pre-positioned at key locations to provide rapid emergency response and ensure network reliability.
