Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson said U.S. President Donald Trump had repeated "big lies" about the country during his State of the Union address.

In a statement posted on social media platform X on Wednesday, spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said the White House is conducting a "disinformation and misinformation campaign" against Iran.

He noted that, "Whatever they're alleging in regards to Iran's nuclear program, Iran's ballistic missiles, and the number of casualties during January's unrest is simply the repetition of 'big lies.'"

He further noted that the idea that "a lie repeated a thousand times becomes the truth" is now being employed by the United States and Israel in their "misleading campaign" against Iran.

"Professional liars are good at creating the 'illusion of truth," Baqaei wrote. "No one should be deceived by these obvious falsehoods."
