The third round of U.S.-Iran indirect nuclear talks is taking place in Geneva. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said earlier that Iran hopes to reach a fair and just agreement as soon as possible. On the eve of the talks between the two countries, the U.S. imposed a new wave of sanctions against more than 30 entities, individuals, and vessels. 

The U.S. has been intensifying sanctions against Iran as it amasses military assets – including two aircraft carriers and large fleets of fighter jets – in the region, in apparent preparation for war. Stay tuned with CGTN.
