Wuhan Fosenix General Aviation Co. has unveiled its Sparrow-X2, an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), at a showcase in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.
This six-seat, 2.7-ton aircraft can be equipped with specialized medical devices, including mobile CT scanners and ECMO systems. The hourly flight cost is estimated at around 2,000 yuan (about $292), much cheaper than that of traditional medical helicopters.

The aircraft's standard electric range reaches 200 kilometers, extending up to 1,200 kilometers with a range extender, enabling city-to-city and interprovincial operations.
The aircraft features eight rotors in a 4+2+2 layout and a composite wing structure, enabling vertical take-off and landing without a runway.

The Sparrow-X2 can also support firefighting, inspection, security and tourism missions.
Currently undergoing load and performance testing, the Sparrow-X2 is scheduled for production and patient-transport trials later this year.
