The 2026 Chinese New Year film season has sparked a moviegoing boom across major global markets. Among the highlights is the high-octane racing film "Pegasus 3," which has been released in countries including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, drawing overseas audiences into its adrenaline-fueled world.

During the Chinese New Year holiday, the China Film Administration and China Media Group jointly launched the special campaign "China Travel with Chinese Films." Promotional videos were screened on more than 600 public displays across over 20 countries, including the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Russia and New Zealand. The initiative invites global audiences to follow the lens of Chinese cinema, experience the vibrancy of the Spring Festival, and discover China's natural landscapes, urban vitality and modern lifestyle firsthand.

"Pegasus 3" was shot on location in Jiulong County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, in southwest China's Sichuan Province. After watching the film's heart-pounding races, many viewers have shifted their attention from the roaring engines to the breathtaking settings.

Jiulong County provides a dramatic backdrop of towering mountains, deep valleys, winding highways and vast alpine meadows. The film's high-altitude racetrack sequences—featuring cliffside sprints and sharp drifting turns—blend seamlessly with the region's rugged grandeur, creating a fully immersive big-screen experience.

Among the most striking locations is the Jichou Mountain viewing platform, situated at an elevation of 4,750 meters. Known for its sweeping 360-degree views of snow-capped peaks and rolling seas of clouds, the site serves as the setting for the film's "racetrack above the clouds," leaving audiences in awe.

Additional scenes were filmed at Lieta Lake in Jiulong's pristine wilderness and in Mengdong Village, a historic gateway along the ancient Tea Horse Road linking Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. As engines roar across the plateau, "Pegasus 3" is doing more than thrilling moviegoers—it is inspiring travelers worldwide to follow the film's tracks to Ganzi and experience the landscape for themselves.
