China has urged the international community to remain vigilant against what it describes as moves toward neo-militarism. The statement follows remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who accused China of intensifying efforts to alter the status quo through force or coercion in the East China Sea, the South China Sea, and areas around Japan. On February, Zhang Xiaogang, spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, said such claims mirror the historical narratives Japan once used to justify aggression.
