Explosions have been reported in multiple Iranian cities including the capital Tehran, after Israel and the United States launched strikes Saturday morning.

Israel declared a state of emergency across the country as the strikes were launched, in anticipation of Iranian retaliation.

Multiple U.S. military bases around the region are under Iranian missile attacks.

Indirect negotiations had been ongoing between Washington and Tehran over the latter's nuclear program, against a backdrop of a wider U.S. military buildup in the Middle East.
