U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is "not happy" about the progress of negotiations with Iran, despite the Omani mediator saying Iran has agreed not to stockpile enriched uranium.
"I'm not happy with the fact that they're not willing to give us what we have to have. So I'm not thrilled," Trump said.
He emphasized that he does not want to use force but said sometimes "you have to."
Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi said Iran has agreed not to stockpile enriched uranium in talks with the United States, describing the agreement as a "breakthrough."
Despite the "big achievement" announced by Albusaidi, the increasing risk of military action is looming in the region.
The U.S. ordered its embassy staff in Israel to leave the country as soon as possible, while multiple countries, including China, Poland, Greece and the Netherlands, have urged their citizens to leave Iran due to the prospect of confrontation.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to Israel early next week to discuss Iran and other issues in the region, according to State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott.
