As the spring migration season begins at the Swan Spring Wetland Park in Yining County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, over 800 whooper swans are practicing for their northward journey, attracting visitors with their elegant movements. The wetland serves as China's most significant wintering habitat for this species, thanks to its underwater hot springs that prevent large-scale freezing. Known as the largest but least numerous swan species in the country, these "aristocrats of swans" typically arrive in early October and depart by late February or early March.
