The Jialing River Bridge, built in the 1960s, was the first bridge across the river in downtown Chongqing. Wei Wei, a Chongqing local, has been passionate about photography since childhood. When he was in school, he photographed the Jialing River Bridge many times. Today, when Wei Wei once again turns his camera toward the bridge over this river, a new bridge has already appeared beside it, and high-rise buildings now stand on both sides of the river.
The Liberation Monument (Jiefangbei) — the heart of Chongqing’s city center. Through Wei Wei's lens, the Liberation Monument was still the tallest structure in the area in the 1980s. Forty years later, the Liberation Monument has long become a "little shorty."
Let us view the world through Wei Wei’s lens and witness the remarkable vitality of change and development in the Chinese city of Chongqing.
