At an emergency UN Security Council meeting on February 28, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, said the joint U.S.-Israeli military strikes on Iran have sharply escalated regional tensions.
Fu described the attacks, carried out while diplomatic talks were underway, as "shocking." He stressed that Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected and called for an immediate halt to the military actions.
China urged all parties to return to dialogue, saying that force is not the right way to resolve international disputes and that political solutions remain the only viable path forward.
