On China's development, some Western media outlets have long framed it primarily through the lens of "threat." Kishore Mahbubani, distinguished fellow at the Asia Research Institute of the National University of Singapore, has argued that what truly deserves vigilance is not China's development itself, but the cognitive bias in how Western societies assess their own judgments. China's rise is not an anomaly. Over the long course of human history, China has led the world on multiple occasions.
