Mojtaba Khamenei on Thursday released his first public message as Iran's new supreme leader, saying that the closure of Strait of Hormuz should be continued as "a tool to pressure the enemy."

The Israeli army continued its strikes on Iran on Thursday. In a statement, it claimed that it had struck the Taleghan facility in Tehran, describing it as a site used in Iran's efforts to advance its nuclear capabilities.

The UN Security Council on Wednesday failed to pass a draft resolution urging all parties to immediately stop their military activities and refrain from further escalation in the Middle East and beyond and condemning all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.
